The King & Queen County Sheriff’s Office is seeking an individual to perform administrative duties, including data entry, correspondences for the Sheriff’s Office, organizing files, publishing reports and other related duties.

Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 year of age, have a valid Driver’s License, and have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Applicants must have good oral and written communication skills. This can be a highly stressful job so applicants must be able to handle stressful situations and short due dates.

Salary: $10.00 to $16.00 and hour, depending on experience. The hours will be 29 hours maximum a week.

The King & Queen County Sheriff’s Office is seeking an individual to perform law enforcement duties, including investigating crimes, answering citizen complaints, making arrests, interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, serving civil papers, providing court testimony, executing search warrants, performing evictions and other related duties. This position possibly could be a School Resource Officer position.

Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Driver’s License, have a High School Diploma or equivalent and DCJS law enforcement certified is preferred, however certified and non-certified applications will be accepted. Applicants must have good oral and written communication skills and be able to work under stressful, high risk conditions.

Salary: $33,000 to $40,000, depending on experience. Applicants will work varied shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays.

The Emergency Communication Officer position receives emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatches calls for service for Law Enforcement, Animal Control, Fire and Rescue and run traffic and criminal history queries.

Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Driver’s License, have a High School Diploma or equivalent and complete a Basic Dispatch Course, VCIN/NCIC certification and Emergency Medical Dispatch certification within a year. Applicant must have good written/oral skills, must have knowledge of multiple software programs and have proficient typing skills. Applicants must be able to work in a fast pace environment.

Salary: Full-time position salary will be$27,580 to $31,653, depending on experience. Part-time position salary will be $10.00 to $15.00 and hour, depending on experience. 

Applicants will work varied shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays. 

PART-TIME ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER

Our Animal Control Deputy enforces the laws and regulations set by the State and County with an emphasis on animal control laws. The King & Queen County Animal Control Deputy's duties includes but no limited to: answering complaints from citizens, catching stray animals, dealing with dangerous dogs, investigations of cruelty to animals, and more.


Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must enjoy with working with all animals and the public.


Salary: $10.00 to $16.00 an hour, depending on experience.

PART-TIME COURT SECURITY


Responsible for keeping the peace in the courthouse and courtroom and all security aspects of the courthouse. The Court Security Officer will be responsible for supervision and transportation of inmates. They will also be responsible for transportation and supervision of Emergency Custody Orders and Temporary Detention Orders.

Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.


Salary: $12.00 to $18.00 an hour depending on experience. Applicants will work 29 hours maximum per week.
